Susan Hobbs of St. Petersburg, passed away on July 13, 2023, of complications from cancer. Her parents were Ruth Pearce and John Edward Hobbs, both descendants of Florida Pioneers. In 2018, Susan retired from the Florida State Department of Juvenile Justice after thirty-four years of service. Susan was a life long athlete; most recently focusing on tennis and golf. She took tennis seriously and often said, “NCC,” (no chit-chat on court). She had an infamous drop shot of legend. Susan had a good sense of humor and a big laugh to go with it. Susan will be deeply missed.
