Marsha Jean Pearson Winsor

Marsha Jean Pearson Winsor entered into eternal rest on April 10th, 2023 from cancer and acute dementia while in hospice care. She was born October 10th, 1942 to Jeanne Giortz and Gene Pearson of Kenosha, Wisconsin. Marsha, her mom, and dad by adoption Walter Mozol, moved to St. Petersburg Florida in 1958. It was at the bus stop on Coquina Key where she would meet her eventual husband Peter Winsor (deceased June 19, 2021). Marsha and Peter were married December 23rd, 1960 in St. Petersburg, FL. The first twenty years of their marriage was while Peter was in the Army and Air Force, that included overseas tours in Turkey, Philippines, Japan, and Germany. They returned to St. Petersburg in 1980 and remained there since.

Marsha was an LPN, and held many other healthcare certificates. She had an affinity for caring for the elderly, serving in hospitals, nursing homes and in home healthcare over the course of 30 plus years. Marsha was an avid antique buyer and seller. She sold antiques and collectibles in numerous Pinellas County locations. She had an eye for design, and was adept at turning the discarded and worn into something of value. Marsha was into repurposing long before it was trendy!

Other than her family, Marsha’s greatest love was reserved for her dogs, and the occasional cat. Especially those rescued, or lost. Marsha was particularly fond of Cairn, and West Highland White Terriers, having had 10 in total over the years.

Marsha is survived by daughter Julie Nemethy of St. Petersburg, FL, Steven Winsor (Amy) of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Michael Winsor (Heather) of St. Petersburg, FL, ten grandchildren, and two great grandchildren: Jessica (33), Christopher (30), Michael (24), Sadie (21), Mary (21), Lydia (18), Evan (17), Laurel (17), Anabel (12), Mara (11), Elon (3), and Arlyn (20 months).
