Marko Prusac, 84, passed away on June 17, 2023, at his family home in Saint Petersburg, Florida. He was born on October 12, 1938, in Podrujnica, Kingdom of Yugoslavia. In 1961. Mr. Prusac married Tankosava Samardzija in Sasina, SFR Yugoslavia.
His life’s work was filled with great successes starting as a seven-year-old boy who walked 15.5 miles barefoot to school on sharp Dalmatian stone. A boy unprotected and exposed to all weather conditions but with a vision for a better tomorrow. As a 16 year old young man he was appointed a store manager. He went on to complete Higher Economic School in Belgrade, while providing for his family.
His life journey took a new direction at the age 59. In a war-torn homeland his ultimate mission was to safely bring family, including his grandchildren, to the United States for a better and safer future.
He was an athlete, fisherman, hunter, card player and nature lover. He enjoyed watching animal and travel documentaries, singing, sharing family meals. Above all he loved politics and was an encyclopedia of knowledge concerning history, geography and world leaders.
His grieving wife, Tankosava and daughter Dijana, will miss him immensely.

Marko je ostao u mom lijepom sjecanju kao sagovornik o svim mogucim temama, kao suigrac, bio je jako dobar sahista i iznad svega uvijek je bio spreman da saslusa osobu i da joj pomogne. Bio je ponosan na tebe Dijana, jer je bio svjestan tvojih napora da pomognes i njemu i majci.

My husband and I met Mr. Marko Prusac’s family a few years ago when we became neighbors. We immediately recognized them as a caring family whose members love, respect, accept, support and help each other in all life situations. Mr. Marko was an extremely intelligent man with rich life experience, a devoted father and husband. He was a very interesting interlocutor with the knowledge to discuss any topic. The stories from his life were interesting and instructive, and his advice was wise! We are very sad he is no longer with us, because we have lost an exceptional man and a sincere friend. He will be missed by many, especially his self-sacrificing daughter Dijana and his beloved wife Tankosava, those two wonderful women whom Marko loved unconditionally and with whom he sailed firmly and proudly through all the storms of life, always with a big smile on his face.
