Dear friends and family,
It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Lois Marie Zardinskas.
Lois passed away peacefully on March 2, 2025, at the age of 81, in Land O’ Lakes, Florida.
She was surrounded by her loving family, including her lifelong friend Tami Patterson Kowalkowsky, whom Lois considered a daughter, and Tami’s husband, Alan Kowalkowsky. Lois is also survived by her grandchildren, Christopher Patterson, Tammara Kowalkowsky, and great-grandchild, Reme Kowalkowsky Patterson.
Lois met her lifelong partner, Gary Patterson, in Tampa, and they shared 33 years of love and joy together. Lois passed just three short months after Gary.
Born on October 16, 1943, in Columbus, Ohio, Lois later moved to Tampa, Florida, where she remained devoted to her family and friends throughout her life. She was known for recognizing everyone’s birthday with her own special birthday song and for her unselfish acts of kindness, volunteering for countless organizations.
Lois was passionate about her work with First Housing, where she dedicated over two decades of her life and made countless friends who admired her.
Lois was a ray of light in our world and gave of herself to so many in different ways. She will be deeply missed.
Knowing Lois so well, I know she would want a celebration of life rather than a memorial service. The date for this celebration is to be determined.

Sorry Tammy and family for your loss. We loved Lois. She was a good friend and neighbor. Thoughtful, kind and had a giving heart. Always spoke of me, her and neighbor Faye as the golden girls. Most often going to lunch once a month and celebrating the 4th of July and New Year’s Eve together. I miss her. ❤️
