Joel David Knight

February 2, 1957 – June 3, 2022

On Friday, June 3rd, Joel passed away unexpectedly of cardiac arrest in Pinellas Park, FL at the age of 65.

He is survived by his wife Ralphine Knight, daughter Nichole Carpenter, two grandchildren Margot and Slade, four siblings, Richard D. Knight, Kevin Knight, Amy McRoberts and Nancy Knight.

He was born in Warren, Ohio February 2, 1957, as the middle child of five to Richard C. Knight and Donaerl Knight. His family moved to St. Petersburg, Florida in 1968 where he grew up.

He graduated from Northeast High School in 1976.  In 1982 he married his wife, Ralphine, and they just celebrated 40 years of marriage.

Joel worked in carpentry for 46 years. He was a journeyman finish carpenter and metal fabrication welder. He had a finish carpentry business in Largo, FL for 15 years. He had a passion for creating woodart and woodwork for clients, family and friends. His woodworking shop was truly his happy place.  

In earlier years he loved fishing, especially for Snook. He also enjoyed hunting, camping and being outdoors.

Please join us in a Celebration of Life on Saturday June 25, 2022, at 2pm at the American Legion Post 14, located at 1540 4th Street N., St. Petersburg, FL 33704.

Due to Joel’s unexpected death, the family is humbly requesting financial assistance with the funeral costs and any needs they may incur during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers we are requesting donations be sent to the family’s Venmo account: @Ralphine-Knight.
