Jane E. Williams

In Loving Memory of Jane E. Williams March 17, 1940 – June 4, 2025

Jane E. Williams, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, went to be with the Lord on June 4, 2025, at the age of 85. She passed away peacefully at home in Palm Harbor, Florida, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on March 17, 1940, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Jane was the daughter of Harry and Margaret Rutherford. She was talented and creative, with a passion for painting, cooking, singing, decorating and collecting antiques and treasures. A retired barber, Jane had a warm, infectious smile and a kind and generous spirit. She was a woman of strong faith in God and took time to appreciate life’s simple pleasures, like nature, birdwatching and singing hymns. Her greatest joy was time spent with her children and grandchildren.

Jane is survived by her daughter, Roberta Phillips, and her husband, Don, of Palm Harbor, Florida; her son, Ralph (Eddie) Lawrence, of Beaufort, North Carolina; her twin sister, Joy DePinho, and her husband, Alfred, of New Martinsville, West Virginia; and her brother, Bruce Rutherford, and his wife, Dorothy (Doris), of Shipman, Virginia. She is preceded in death by her son, Paul Lawrence, and her siblings, Fannie (Pauline) Levinson, Gail A. Holmes-Reeves and Joan Rutherford.

As she wished, her family will gather privately to celebrate her life over a seafood dinner that will include crab and shrimp – a few of her favorite foods inspired by her many years of living in coastal towns in New England, New Jersey, North Carolina and Florida.

  2. That’s my Aunt Jane. One of the sweetest, goofiest people I’ll ever have the pleasure of knowing. She was a one of a kind, amazing woman that will live through me because we were so alike. I love you Aunt Jane.

  3. I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your mom, Roberta. Since moving to the opposite coast of the state, I have been out of touch with many folks over there. However, I remember your mom well and how she always had a smile for everyone she met. God bless you during this time and may God give you peace knowing you will see her again.

  4. Jane was the most positive sweet lady to be around. I looked forward to see her smiling face everyday when I came to work. She had Jesus everywhere she went. ♥️
