Gary Sherman Kettle Jr. Fondly known as Pony or Ponyboy ‘52’ passed away due to cancer on November 5th , 2023, with his mother, father, and sister lovingly by his side. We are all devastated by this huge loss, and he will be forever missed.
Gary (ponyboy) is survived by his mother and father Kathleen and David Gadoury. Sister Stacy Maturo, brother-in-law Mark Maturo, half sisters Christine Malboeuf and Amy Kettle. Daughters Harli Kettle and Carly Schaefer along with granddaughter Deylani maryelis Vargas-Kettle.
Ponyboy was born on December 19th, 1970 at Windham hospital in Willimantic CT. Gary grew up in Ashford CT and attended E.O. Smith High School. Gary later went on to master the skill of an arborist.
Gary later moved to Florida where he spent the last fourteen years of his life. He made many friends along the way, he was the kind of person who drew people in. He was extremely funny and never failed to make someone laugh or bring a smile to their face. He never lost his child-like spirit, had an amazing memory, and would light up a room when telling his entertaining stories. These words cannot possibly sum up the life of such a beautiful person, but it is a glimpse into knowing him.
Gary everyone you left in this world hates that you are gone but we are happy that you are home, free and painless. Our love for you is endless, you will forever be missed until we can meet again.
A celebration of life for ponyboys will occur in the spring with details to be determined. It will be announced in the same places you find yourself reading this, several weeks before the date.
