Sadly we announce the passing of Eilene on Saturday June 25th, 2022.
Survivors are her son Eric and her grandson Sam.
As an independent, forward thinking woman, Eilene lived life on her own terms. She was always a champion for women’s rights.
As a long time resident of Redington Shores, Eilene loved to admire the beauty around her from her “Birds Eye View” at her waterfront home.
In her younger years, Eilene was an avid sailor on Long Island Sound and was always happiest on or near water. As an extremely avid reader, she never appeared lonely and always had a good foreign film or mystery series at the ready, to fill in the gaps between reading sessions. University courses in Asian Studies fed Eilene’s strong interest in China and in 1980, 1990 and 1991 she travelled there, creating many wonderful memories. As an excellent baker, Eilene loved to share her “goodies” which were well received by friends and neighbours.
Thank you to Bonnie and Nancy for their valuable friendly support of Eilene.
Her lifelong friends Judy and Michael, who were of constant support to her, will hold her in their hearts forever, as will her dear friend Myra.
