Cheryl Ann Holbrook, 66, of Tampa, FL, born January 14, 1959 in Middlebury, VT passed February 1 from breast cancer with family by her side.
In 1977, Cheryl graduated from Middlebury Union High School where she participated in all music programs and taught trumpet to students. After which, she joined the U.S. Navy Band, serving from 1977-1980 as a Third Class Musician. She was station in Orlando, FL and Norfolk, VA, finishing out 35 years in civilian service in Tampa. In 2002, she graduated from Saint Leo University in Virginia with honors in Business Administration Management.
After retiring in 2014, she volunteered at the J.A.H. VA Hospital in Tampa, as well as Meals on Wheels, Straz Center for the Performing Arts and Ruth Eckerd Hall.
Cheryl was daughter of Charles E. Holbrook I and Elaine A. (Paulino) Holbrook of Salisbury, VT. Cheryl is survived by her siblings David (Lynda) of East Middlebury, VT, Charles II (Louise Smith) of Ripton, VT., James (Mary) of Colchester, VT, Becky Holbrook of Hubbardton, VT and nieces and nephews; predeceased by her parents and a nephew.
Cheryl loved fishing, music, gardening, Boston Red Sox, Tampa Bay Lightning and was proud of her V.A. affiliation and volunteer services. She raised money for the American Cancer Society and participated in walks for suicide prevention.
