April Ann Davanza was born on April 29th, 1958, in San Diego, California, to Lorraine and Walter Empey. One of six siblings, April grew up surrounded by family, something that would remain deeply important to her throughout her life. She passed away on August 24th, 2026, in Largo, Florida, at the age of 68.
April was a doting and loving mother who loved her daughter deeply. She had a generous, kind, and caring heart and showed compassion toward humans and animals alike. She loved cooking, music, and swimming, and found joy in caring for the people and animals she loved. She adored her grandog, Roxy, and her beloved animals, Stella, Scarlett, Gracie, and Calie.
April always maintained a positive outlook and had the strength to face any life circumstance with grace. Her resilience, kindness, and caring spirit were an inspiration to those who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Alisha Ross; her former husband and cherished friend, Michael Ross; her sisters, Sue Kartes, Judy LaFrance, and Maureen Burns; her sister-in-law, Debbie Empey; her nieces, Jessica Empey-Young, Taylor Pointer, Amanda Van-Matre, Michelle Empey, and Courtney Burt; and her stepchildren, Melissa Mclachlan and Francis Davanaza Jr., along with many other family members and loved ones whose lives she touched.
April will be deeply missed and forever loved. The kindness, love, and care she gave so freely throughout her life will remain with those who knew her, and her memory will live on for eternity.

To a beloved friend, co-worker and a big sister, I will miss you and I will cherish all the days the months and the years that we spent together. I learned a lot from you kindness, patience, love.
