Zina Gooden Drain affectionally known as “Zin” was born on June 10, 1957 to her late mother Mrs. Roxie “Peggy” Gooden Williams in Clearwater Florida. Along with her mother she was raised by her beloved father the late Mr. Dan Williams. Zina was educated in the Pinellas County school system. As a youth she attended the Bethlehem Seventh Day Adventist Church and upon relocating to Largo, her family began fellowshipping with the St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church. Later in life Zina returned to Clearwater and joined St. John Missionary Baptist Church. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant in many nursing facilities as well as a Home Health Aid for many years.
Zina met and married the late Larry “Gene” Drain and to this union two children were born.
On Tuesday August 11, 2020 at 10am she transitioned from this earthly life.
She leaves to mourn: Three children Charles “Groucho” Allen Jr. of Largo FL, Chiquita Gooden and Deontay Gooden both of Clearwater FL, Three sisters Patricia Gooden and Tina Gooden both of St. Petersburg FL, and Melissa Gooden of Clearwater FL, Three brothers Devone Poinsette-Baldwin and Jeremy Redding both of Largo FL, and Leman Adams II of Hudson FL, Four grandchildren Lakevia, Charles III, King, Caylen, and Cayden. One aunt Bernice Williams of Largo FL, and a host of extended family members and friends.
Celebration of life Memorial service will convene on Sunday August 24, 2020 at 3:00pm to be held at the Christ Church of Universal Love 11699 130th Ave, Largo FL, 33778. Colors are purple and black and Mask are required.
