Yvonne Patterson

Yvonne Patterson, formerly of Leighton, Alabama, died on April 6, 2024 in St. Petersburg, Florida.  She was 89 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Patterson, her beloved daughter, Gloria Patterson Krieger, her brother Arthur Nasworthy, her sister Dorothy “Dot” Hunsucker, and her niece Joy Parton, as well as her mother Gladys Ruth Nasworthy.

Yvonne is survived by her two sisters: Catherine “Kitty” Phillips (and daughter Dana Phillips) and Nancy Collier (and daughter Holly Ewers and family). She is also survived by 3 grandsons:  Christopher Patterson, Jeremy Patterson (Chrissy Patterson and children) and Greg Patterson (Kim Patterson).

Yvonne lived and worked in Alabama most of her life, but she bravely relocated to Florida to be close to her grandchildren during her final years. This was a special time together for them to reconnect and to make new memories. Everyone enjoyed the time spent together, especially on holidays, when shopping or while sightseeing, and at Saturday morning breakfasts! “Grandma” DID love her coffee and biscuits and gravy!

Throughout her life, Yvonne enjoyed her yard and flowers, football (especially when Alabama was playing) and her many, many pets, including cats and dogs, birds and raccoons, and other “critters”.

Her cremains will be returned to Alabama the first week in August, where there will be a celebration of her life on a date yet to be determined. She is greatly missed by all those who loved her!
