Robert “Bob” Dye

In Loving Memory of Robert “Bob” Dye

Robert “Bob” Dye passed away peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, July 25, 2026.

Born on April 23, 1955, Bob lived a full and meaningful life rooted in faith, family, service, and love. Bob married the love of his life, Catherine Weaver Dye, on August 5, 1978. Together, they shared a life filled with travel, adventure, and cherished time with family. He loved family reunions, cruising, playing pool with friends, exploring the open road on his Harley Davidson, and his beloved dog, Harley.

A proud U.S. Navy veteran, Bob later built a respected career as a surveyor across Texas, Georgia, and Florida, retiring in 2021. He was active in the Tampa Bay Chapter of the Florida Surveying and Mapping Society and gave generously of his time to the Largo Elks Lodge and veterans charities.

Known for his mechanical gifts, generous spirit, and big, beautiful smile, Bob was always willing to help others. He loved cars, motorcycles, and working with his hands, but most of all, he loved the people in his life.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Nancy Webber Dye Thielemann and Walter Willard Dye, and his brother, Wally Dye. He is survived by his loving wife, Catherine; his sisters Mary Dye Weaver, Elizabeth Dye Battaglia, and Ruth Dye Payne; his brother John Dye; his stepbrother Joe Thielemann; and many nieces and nephews and friends who will miss him dearly.

His family takes comfort in knowing Bob is at peace in heaven with his Lord. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to:
