Lawrence “Lare” McNally, of Tampa, Fla., formerly of St. Clair Shores, Mich., found peace in our
Lord’s embrace on June 6, 2025, only days after turning 57 on June 1. Lawrence is survived by his daughters, Lauren and Payton, and his son, Reagan; his soulmate, Kelly Greenwood, her son, Luca Greenwood, and her father, Sam Greenwood. His unique sense of humor will be missed by his siblings, Ann (Rod) McHugh, Howard (Chris), Mary (Mike) McConnell, Jim (Ellen), Tish (Jim) Wirth, Tim (Shelly), Tom (Julie) and John (Renee). His numerous nieces and nephews will miss his robust laughter. He was predeceased by his parents, Howard and Marie.
Lawrence was intensely proud of his Irish heritage, even to the point of having a shamrock inlay installed in his fireplace border. He was incredibly proud of his children and treasured the family unit he shared with Kelly.
A graduate of Michigan Tech with a degree in Civil Engineering, Lawrence began his career in Michigan and eventually transferred to Florida. None of us will ever confuse using the term cement for concrete, based on the number of times we were lectured that they are not the same!
As one who enjoyed cooking, Lawrence took pleasure in creating interesting dishes and making sure everyone had something to eat. He maintained his sense of humor throughout his illness and he drew much comfort from his dog, Everly. Lawrence lived life large with a big grin, a devilish twinkle in his eye and an attention to order and detail. He will be forever missed.
A private memorial service was held in Florida, and plans are still being made for a service in Michigan.
