Gilbert R. “Rusty” Brown was born February 16, 1958 in Lockport, NY and succumbed to life’s end, age 68, at home July 3, 2026 in St. Petersburg, FL.
He was a non-confrontational humble man with the ability to make friends easily due to his uplifting spontaneous sense of humor. Although well known for his ability to enjoy life, he is more memorable as an avid fisherman and could always be found on the fishing banks whenever possible. He sustained this life long passion from childhood and was always willing to share his knowledge. It can easily be said that the only thing he loved more than fishing was his family.
He is survived by his spouse of 33 years, Doretha, his daughter, Amanda, his sons Anthony and Gilbert II, 9 grandchildren which he cherished dearly (Jamiyah, Armani, Jalaya, De’Anna, Angela, Kamron, A’lyvia, Kayden, and Kaliyah) and a multitude of family members (brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins) residing in Lockport NY
Our beloved spouse, father, grandfather, and friend will always and forever remain in our hearts
May he “fish in peace”
