Gloria R. Salway, 85, passed away on August 25, 2026. She was
born in Beckley, West Virginia. At a young age her adopted family
moved to Gulfport, Florida where she grew up and graduated
from Boca Ciega High School in 1958. She was a Unit Secretary
for St. Anthony’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida for 13 years.
After leaving St. Anthony’s Hospital she worked for several
different private practices. She was a very devoted wife, mother,
sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her daughters Saadia L. Henderson, Tamara L.
Henderson, Jeanine Adams and husband Don Adams, Christine L
Coston. She is survived by one grandson, Joshua Coston. She is
survived by one great granddaughter Aria B. Coston. She is
survived by her sister in law Mary Rice. She is survived by many
nieces, nephews & cousins.
She was preceded in death by her only son, Jeffrey Henderson.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life for 28 years of
adventures, her husband, Edward A. Salway Sr. She was
preceded in death by her biological mother Myrtle Lee Turner.
She was preceded in death by her adoptive parents Christine &
Thomas Rice. She was preceded in death by her biological
brother, Thomas Rice and her adopted sisters Jane Ann Brasgalla
& June Brasgalla.
A Celebration of Life will be on November 7, 2026 from 12pm to
3pm at Lake Seminole Presbyterian 8505 113th Street N,
Seminole, Florida 33772. Internment will be at Bay Pines
Cemetery at 12:30pm on November 9, 2026.
