Cynthia Ann Wartenbe Griffin August 6, 1952 – September 23, 2025

Cynthia Ann Wartenbe Griffin, known as Cindi to her friends and loved ones, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on September 23, 2025, at the age of 73.

Born on August 6, 1952, Cindi lived a joyful life built around family, and her laughter, kindness, and love filled every room she entered. For 49 of those years, she shared those blessings with her devoted husband, Michael Griffin, and together, they raised five children. Her greatest pride and joy came from watching them grow into the people they are today, and her heart was fullest when she was surrounded by her seven grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure and brought her endless happiness.
Cindi had a gift for finding joy in everyday moments and beauty in the people around her. She loved the fun of a good pickleball match, the satisfaction of sewing and creating things by hand, and the peaceful pleasure of the Gulf of Mexico coast, searching for seashells with family or in quiet solitude. A serial hobbyist, Cindi loved the natural world—diving into learning about sea turtles, dolphins, owls, and octopuses, and spending hours in the garden tending her gorgeous plants. She cherished the many phases of the moon, used a telescope to watch the planets and stars, and took comfort in the vastness of the universe.

Those who knew Cindi will remember her gentle spirit, her warm heart, and the way she truly embodied unconditional love. They will remember how easily she laughed and her love of the music of her era, especi

ally Fleetwood Mac, The Beach Boys, and The Beatles. They will remember her deep gratitude for her family, friends, and the beauty of the world around her.
Cindi’s spirit will live on in every sky painted with a Gulf shore sunset, the indulgent taste of a cheese danish, the timeless fragrance of Chanel No.5, the luxurious feel of quality fabrics, the echoes of her voice singing the music she loved, and in the fierce spirit that encourages us all to embrace the horizon before us.

Well, I’ve been afraid of changin’, ’cause I’ve built my life around you. But time makes you bolder, children get older, and I’m getting older too. ~ Stevie Nicks

A celebration of Cindi’s life will be held on November 29, 2025, at 2:00 pm, at CREW, located at 6044 Main Street in Mt. Jackson, Virginia.
