In Loving Memory
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Roger R. Duval (Bucky), who ended this journey on September 18, 2025 at the age of 88. He was cherished as husband, father, grandfather and friend, loved and respected by family, friends, and all who knew him. He leaves behind his loving wife of 35 years, Elaine Duval, his four children, Victoria Duval Cline, Michael Duval, Mark Duval and Matthew Duval, his step-children Steve Rushkowski, Kim Gilbert, Scott Rushkowski and Jill Jackson. He also leaves behind the legacy of an abundance of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Delores Noonan.
Roger Richard Duval was born on September 14, 1937, in Bristol, Connecticut. He graduated from Bristol High School, a 3-letter Athlete, in 1955 and went on to become a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps where he met his first wife Orchid. Together they raised 4 children until her untimely passing in 1974. Roger worked as a machinist in Bristol for over 30 years. He married Elaine (Robillard) Rushkowski in 1990 and in 1997 they moved to St. Petersburg Florida. He joined his wife Elaine in the real estate business and were known locally as “The Duval Team”. Upon retiring from that venture, they started their own Condo Care business from their home near Madeira Beach. Roger carried a ring of keys with him as he checked on units throughout his condo community and was known for his integrity, kindness and a quick sense of humor. We will all miss his comedic lines, delivered with a wink and that stunning Duval smile.
A service to celebrate Roger Duval’s life will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025 promptly at 10:00 a.m, at the Bay Pines National Cemetery in St. Petersburg, FL. Parking is limited, so carpooling is encouraged. All who knew and loved him are welcome to attend and pay their respects. We will be meeting afterwards at the War Veterans’ Memorial Park next to the cemetery, in Shelter #5 to share his memory together.
Roger (Bucky) Duval will be dearly missed, forever loved, and always remembered with a smile. And maybe a wink.
