What can I say about a friend of over 50 years? Other than the word friend means to me, kindness, generosity, humor, honorable. In school we were known as Ruben and Judy S and Ruben and Judy P will be missing you always till we meet again. Rest in peace my friend love Ruben and Judy Pedregal.
PS Judy you and his kids were his world. Never forget that. ❤️
I had the pleasure of coming to know Ruben in the last couple of years through Judy and other friends from St. Lawrence Church. He always radiated a welcome smile to others in addition to the love and pride he showed for family with him.
In recent months we came to know one another on a deeper level, a man of faith, and strength evidenced by his presence week after week at the Saturday 4pm Mass though often in great pain which he did not complain about.
His trust in God’s will for his life was a tremendous witness to me as we prayed together for healing according to God’s plan, body, mind, spirit and soul. He told me that he did not fear death, if that was God’s will for him as he knew where he was going. Ruben received the ultimate healing, union with God. Suffering is such a mystery and while we believe that he is with God, it does not take away grieving his absence. I pray that in time you, family and friends, come to know his nearness in a new way. In the meantime may God give you all the strength and tenderness you need.
I am sorry that I will not be able to attend his Mass as I am out of town until August 6th. I will be united with you all in spirit and prayer on the 4th.
He was such a welcoming and kind man. He was always smiling and loving. May he rest easy. My deepest condolences to the entire family.
