Ruth Golub Montoya

Ruth Golub Montoya, born May 25, 1928, passed away on July 9, 2025.

She had a very long life, but started her young life during the depression that began just a bit over a year after her birth.  As a result, she pledged to herself that she would not live her life financially wanting.  She achieved all she wished for.  Ruth trained at a young age for a good occupation as a Court Reporter and, in her 20’s, happily worked  in Germany and then France.  As the oldest of 6 girls, she felt a duty to return home to Brooklyn for the love and loyalty she felt for her family.  She did her best to be the big sister she was by providing advice and support for her sisters.  After a marriage and divorce, she found herself the sole support of her daughter, Nicole.  Due to her wise early choices, she was able to provide both security and frequent travel for herself and Nicole.  Throughout her life, as long as she was able, she was the family historian and storyteller.  She will be irreplaceable in that regard.  She also provided love and support to the best of her ability to her growing family of nieces and a nephew.  Ruth remained young in spirit and appearance until she became sick.  She was cared for through her long illness until her last day by her loving and devoted daughter Nicole.  We know her spirit is still with us.  She leaves behind her grieving daughter, Nicole Alexandra Montoya, her sister Dubby Rose, her nephew, Peter Jukovsky and her nieces, Selene Johnson  and Jasmine Johnson.  Everyone will miss her kindness, her warmth and her stories.  She has probably already re-united with her loving sisters who pre-deceased her, Marian and Natalie Golub and Iris Rosechild as well as her ex-husband, Marco Montoya. “mi yitan vealohim yizkor et nishmat ahuvi, asher shra kadi leshmua (et) menuchat hanatzch.”  May God remember the soul of my loved one, who has gone to her eternal rest.
