David Edward Dotson, 68, of Capac, Michigan passed away in Clearwater, Florida on March 16, 2022 after years battling health issues.
David was born on December 24 of 1953 to John (Jay) William and Bertha (Bert) Marie Dotson in Goodlettsville, Tennessee. He attended Armada High School, it was at this time that he met and fell in love with Kathryn Hulett. They were married in 1976 and were with each other through all of life’s ups and downs.
Dave and Kathy would go on to have three children, Christopher, Kimberly, and Scott. Dave was a wonderful and devoted father, husband and teacher. He taught his children to never give up as he tackled all of the numerous health challenges thrown at him. He supported his family throughout the many accomplishments and difficulties in their lives.
Dave worked as a welder for Ford Motor Company for 16 years till he retired due to health issues. When he wasn’t working, he could be found tinkering around in his garage or at his Hubbard Lake cabin. An avid handyman, Dave dedicated much of his time to making and fixing projects. He recently became a snowbird, enjoyed spending time between his Hubbard Lake, Michigan and Clearwater, Florida homes.
Dave is survived by his loving wife Kathy Dotson; children, Chris Dotson, Kim (Mike) Pagel, and Scott Dotson; grandchildren, Aiden, Cameron, Emily, Mason, Collin, Grant, and Logan; and siblings Greg (Linda) Dotson, Peggy Wagner, Richard (Fee) Dotson, John (Linda) Dotson, Ruth (Bob) Lamon and Della Dotson. He was predeceased by his parents, Jay and Bert Dotson.
There will be a celebration of life on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at Berville Lions Club (13651 Hough Rd, Berlin Township, MI 48002). There will be a visitation from 2-4pm with 4pm memorial service held and a fellowship dinner to follow.
