Luis Maramara

Luis Maramara was born in Cebu, Philippines on June 20, 1960. He was the son of Genera and Octavio Maramara. He was the oldest of four siblings: Alan Maramara, Joy Dickey, and Lyn Mayes. The family relocated from New Jersey to Fort Myers, Florida in 1976. Luis was a lover of all sports, but his passion was basketball. He graduated from Bishop Verot Catholic High School in 1979. Luis obtained his undergraduate degree at the University of South Florida, and he attended medical school at the University of Florida shortly after. As a physician, he completed his residency at All Children’s Hospital as a pediatrician. After his residency, he opened his own private practice, Palm Harbor Pediatric Urgent Care. Due to his illness, he opted for early retirement and spent the remainder of his years surrounded by loving family. He is survived by his five children: Taylor, Gabrielle, Mateo, Austen, and Elyse. He will always be remembered for his strong personality and his generous heart. He was loved dearly by his family and friends.
