Charleen “Chippy” Meringo Hedrick of St. Petersburg, Florida, went to be with the Lord at the age of 83, surrounded by family on July 19, 2021.
Originally from Philadelphia she relocated to St Pete Beach in 1977. Charleen spent her career in the hair and makeup business opening Tres Leo Salon on Blind Pass Road. She was very active in the community with the early organization of boat parades, Jazz on the Go, fashion shows and many other community events. Later in life her hobbies include traveling, interior design, painting in watercolors, attending Questers Group, and spending time with her many dogs over the years. Living in Five Towns she helped start a theater group and yoga class for residents. She was a people person, who surrounded herself with family and friends. Her sense of style was impeccable, always dressed for the occasion with hair and makeup perfectly placed. Her presence will be deeply missed!
Predeceased by her husband, Boyd Hedrick. She is survived by her only son, Bob Meringo (Deborah), granddaughter, Dina Meringo Grigsby, (Max), and niece, Nicole DeSanto (Todd Sherman).
Services will be held on Monday, July 26, 2021 at 1:00 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 445 82nd Avenue, St. Pete Beach, Florida 33706. Viewing is from 12:00 – 1:00pm.
