Ms. Amber Julia Cortino Burns

Ms. Amber Julia Cortino Burns passed away January 10, 2021 at the age of 101. She was born December 8, 1919 in Ybor City, FL and moved to Mango, FL when she was 4 yrs. old. She was preceded in death by her parents, I.J. and Mary Cortino, brother Samuel Cortino, and sister Madalain Cortino Beaumar. She is survived by her daughter, Joan Berry, and generations of nieces and nephews. Ms. Cortino Burns worked at the Tampa Shipyard during WWII and also on an aircraft carrier in California. She, along with her family, owned and operated a grocery store in Mango until the late 1950’s. She was a member of Seffner Presbyterian Church, Women’s Circle of the Church, Mango Civic Club, and Hillsborough County Home Extension Sewing Club.
