Amy Bernice Haynes, 79, of Dunedin, FL, formerly of Mapleton, IL, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2020 at Suncoast Hospice Center, Palm Harbor, FL. Amy was born on December 28, 1940, in Peoria, IL to George and Mable (Resseguie) Connor. She married her sweetheart, the love of her life, Delmar “Fuzz” Haynes on October 13, 1956. He survives. Also surviving are four children, Tom (Rosemary) Haynes of Hanna City, Margie (Kevin) Dearing of Bartonville, Dusty (Brenda) Haynes of LaSalle and Darren (Julie) Haynes of Mapleton; grandchildren Travis Wall, Amy Jo Mitchell, Jennifer Cruit, Katrina Morehouse, Jessica Gray, Megan Haynes, Noah Haynes and Tyler Daily. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren who adored their Granny. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Darlene Calhoun, Maxine Oathout; brothers, George Connor and Michael Connor and grandson, Caleb Troy Haynes. Amy retired from Canteen at Caterpillar in Mapleton. Her greatest joy was her family. Each and every family member knew how special, important and loved they were by her. She loved family holiday gatherings, the annual Haynes wiener roast and keeping up to date on all her kids, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other family members. Amy enjoyed her retirement years with Fuzz in Florida sitting on the beach, watching the sunsets at Honeymoon Island and participating in all the neighborhood activities with her Florida friends. It was Amy’s wishes to be cremated and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
