Helen Wilma Hutchins went home to be with the Lord on Sept.13, 2020 at home in Oldsmar, FL. She was 92 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents. Chester and Gertrude Samples and her brother Charles Kenneth Samples. She is survived by her brother Bob Samples (Marilyn) of Oak Ridge, TN, her daughter, Holly Hutchins Wortham (Mark) of Oldsmar, FL, and her son, Danny Hutchins of Oak Ridge, TN. She was the proud grandmother of Allison Perry (Sean) of Tioga, TX, Rikki DeGrove (Eric) of Colorado Springs, CO, Mallory Miller (Josh), of Tarpon Springs, FL, and Brittany Lucas (Chris) of Oldsmar, FL. Helen had 11 great-grandchildren, Grace Perry McCright (Niall), Caleb Perry, Maggie Perry, Emma Perry, Charlie DeGrove, Violet DeGrove, Juliet DeGrove, Judy Miller, Paige Miller, Sadie Lucas, and Harrison Lucas.
Helen was born in Buford, GA on July 3, 1928. Her family later moved to Louisville, KY and then to Oak Ridge, TN where she graduated from Oak Ridge High School. After high school Helen began working for the Atomic Energy Commission. She married and raised her family in Oak Ridge and then began working for the Oak Ridge, Chamber of Commerce. She also volunteered as a Pink Lady at Oak Ridge Hospital. She moved to Carrollton, Tx in 1977 and worked for Otis Engineering until she retired. Helen continued to live in Carrollton for many years and enjoyed spending time with her family that lived in that area. She later moved back to Oak Ridge to live with her son, Danny and eventually, as her health declined, moved to Oldsmar, FL to the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Mark. Her family loved her very much and is so thankful for the peace they have that they will be united again with her one day. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at a later date
